Murawski Moves To Russian Champions

Lech Poznań has sold their star midfielder Rafał Murawski to Russian champions, Rubin Kazan for a reported 2.5 million euros.

According to Rubin Kazan, Murawski has signed a 3 year contract with his new club.

Rubin Kazan won the Russian title last year, beating out well known teams like Zenit St. Petersberg and CSKA Moscow. As a result, they will be playing in the group stages in the 2009/2010 Champions League season.

The 27 year old Murawski played in Arka Gdynia, Amica Wronki, and Lech Poznań. In his Polish Ekstraklasa career, he played 123 matches and scored 11 goals. He has played 19 times and scored 1 goal for Poland and was part of the Polish squad in the Euro 2008 championships.

This will be a big challenge for Murawski to step up to the next level in his footballing career. Hopefully he will play regularly for his new club, as he is an important part of the Polish National Team.
